DeepFake is a GAN-based technology that can swap out a person's identity with that of another. GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks) create incredibly realistic faces that are difficult to identify by naked eyes. A photo-realistic image may now be readily created from a random vector by the fast advancement of generative adversarial networks. It is proved as a game changer as it outperforms in feature and expression learning. It's become a hot topic for researchers to figure out if a given facial photograph is real or fake especially circulated in social media. As a result, detecting the GAN-generated deepfake images or videos is becoming a crucial task to be identified. This paper primarily presented different deepfake manipulation techniques, an overview of GAN models used to implement deepfakes, as well as different limitations of GAN model based on different evaluation parameters. Also, a GAN model is implemented using Deep convolution neural networks. A closure of its generated images with successive iterations is also discussed. GAN outputs are analyzed using different accuracy curves with focus on mode collapse and convergence as major evaluating parameters. 

Brief biography:

Dr. Manoj Kumar completed his Ph.D. from The Northcap University and M.Sc. (Information Security and Digital Forensics) from Technological University Dublin (Formerly ITB Blanchardstown) Ireland in 2013. He received fully-funded scholarship for his M. Tech and M.Sc. program from Irish Government. He has around 11.5+ years of research, teaching, and corporate experience. He is currently working on the post of Associate Professor in School of Computer Science, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun. His specialization is Machine Learning, Digital Image Processing, IOT, Digital Forensics, WSN, and Information Security. He has published over 80 papers in International refereed journals and conferences. He has delivered several guest lectures, seminars and chaired the session at various reputed international conferences. He published two textbooks. He is currently editing 10 books out of which four are in press and six journal special issues from the most famed publishers like Springer, Bentham Science,  Taylor & Francis, and Elsevier, etc. He is an associate editor, Guest editor, and editorial board member of various journals of repute. He is serving as a Reviewer and Editorial Board Member of many reputed Journals including IEEE Transactions (Q1 and Q2) and Technical Program Committee member of International Conferences. He has received the Best Researcher Award in 2020, an outstanding Scientist Award in 2021, and a Young Researcher Award in 2021 from recognized bodies. He published 8 patents of which one is granted in 2021 and two are in the examination stage.  He delivered two international research projects. He is mentoring six Ph.D. candidates and one M. Tech by research candidate.  He is also a member of numerous renowned bodies including ACM, IAENG, ISTS and UACEE, etc. He is presently involved in various research activities with high-impact researchers worldwide.
